In an uninsulated home a quarter of your heat is lost through the roof. Insulating your loft is a simple and effective way to reduce your heating bills and you can even do it yourself.

Loft Insulation Savings
If you have no loft insulation and you install the recommended 270mm depth you could save around £150 a year on your heating bills and 800kg of CO2.

If your loft requires topping up to the recommended 270mm depth, you could save up to £45 a year and 230kg of CO2. These figures are provided by The Energy Saving Trust and are based on a 3 bedroom semi-detached property heated by gas. Greater savings can be made in larger properties or those heated by coal or electricity.

Why insulate your loft?
Loft insulation is an effective way to save energy and money at home. A well insulated house keeps warmth exactly where you need it - indoors. So, insulating your loft - or topping up any insulation you have already - will help to heat your home more efficiently. Using less energy reduces carbon dioxide emissions (CO2): one of the biggest causes of climate change. You will also save money on your bills too.

What do we do?
After arriving at your property our fitters will carry the loft insulation material in sealed bags into your loft space. For a 270mm install they will lay 100mm in between the joists and then cross lay this with a further 170mm. The loft hatch will also be insulated. We must stress that once we have finished, the joists will not be visible and we recommend that you do not access the loft without the use of crawling boards and only still if you are aware of the exact position of the joists.
